Lemlem's Story

This 2017 video shares the remarkable story of Lemlem. She is a widowed, mother of six, in her mid thirties, that is partially paralyzed as a result of a stroke she suffered. She and her children are now part of the Ebenezer family in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Her story is one of God’s work in making beauty from ashes.

Though the ministry of ESMAfrica (ESMA) initially began through serving orphaned and vulnerable children of Ethiopia, the scope of the ministry also includes supporting families—with an emphasis on keeping families together.

If you would like to initiate a sponsorship of Lemlem and her family, or another family that ESMA supports, you can visit our family sponsorship page.
